His expertise will be invaluable in supporting NCTC's nearly 700 broadband member companies nationwide.
As COO, Koester will oversee NCTC's core operations and lead key business lines and major initiatives, including Mobile, Broadband, Video, and Procurement Solutions. Working closely with the Board, CEO, and executive team, Koester will focus on delivering innovative, high-impact solutions that help members grow and compete in a rapidly converging broadband industry – guided by strategic alignment, strong partnerships, and a member-first mindset.
"We're thrilled to welcome Koester to our leadership team," said Lou Borrelli, CEO of NCTC. "His visionary leadership and broadband expertise come at a critical time for our industry. He brings a passion for rural broadband and firsthand insight into the demands NCTC members face, having actively participated in many of the very initiatives NCTC seeks to deploy.
Recognized by the United States Telecom Association as a Broadband Hero in 2019, Koester is widely respected for his ability to bridge technical, regulatory, and community needs to deliver meaningful broadband solutions. Koester holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications and Marketing and has held senior leadership roles across product management, operations, and strategy throughout his career.
Koester will succeed NCTC's current COO, Lisa Hood, who will continue to serve in her capacity as CFO.
