Shaquille O'Neal Joins Jacmel Infrastructure as Founding Partner
NEW YORK, Oct. 9, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Jacmel Partners ("Jacmel"), an alternative investment firm, announced today that Shaquille O'Neal has joined as a founding partner of Jacmel Infrastructure, the firm's recently launched investment platform targeting critical infrastructure across the United States, primarily in the transportation, energy, social and digital sectors.
As a Founding Partner, Mr. O'Neal extends his successful business portfolio and investment track record into the infrastructure sector. Mr. O'Neal, in partnership with the Jacmel Infrastructure investment team led by Co-Managing Partners Nick Jean-Baptiste and Jorge Mora, will invest in large-scale, private infrastructure transactions that are intended to enhance and make a meaningful difference in local communities. By supporting infrastructure projects alongside developers, large infrastructure managers, and state and local governments, Jacmel Infrastructure will act as a strategic partner of choice in the rapidly expanding sector.
"I'm excited to work with Jorge, Nick and the Jacmel team to invest within infrastructure that has a distinct and purposeful approach," said Mr. O'Neal. "One of my core values is that if you have a positive impact on people's lives, you will win. I've had an opportunity to build a diverse portfolio of business interests over the years, but this marks my official foray into infrastructure, and I know these projects will have a major impact on our communities."
The Jacmel Infrastructure platform targets a wide range of potential investments, with a focus on projects that ultimately drive economic growth and align with the cultures of local governments as well as the communities the projects are serving. Given the role of infrastructure in the growth of specific cities and municipalities, the platform will look to support underserved communities, urban revitalization efforts, critical transportation needs, energy development, and the development of digital infrastructure assets. The team is well positioned to capitalize on the growing demand for infrastructure, particularly bolstered by public-private partnerships and bi-partisan federal support.
In May, Jacmel Infrastructure announced an investment in LaGuardia Gateway Partners (LGP), the private company that recently redeveloped and manages LaGuardia Airport Terminal B in New York City.
"We are honored to announce Shaquille as a founding partner," said Mr. Mora. "His unparalleled drive, business acumen and commitment to making impactful investments makes him a perfect partner as we pursue a pipeline of unique infrastructure opportunities in the current environment."
"Growing up in Orlando, I saw firsthand Shaquille's influence on and off the court, and it's been remarkable to see his dedication to his business ventures and community impact over the years. Now as partners, we look forward to executing on our joint vision for investing in transformative infrastructure projects. We believe that these types of projects will lay the groundwork for future generations to thrive," said Mr. Jean-Baptiste.
As a 15-time NBA All-Star, four-time NBA Champion, and Hall of Famer, Mr. O'Neal is one of the world's most successful athletes-turned-businessmen, whose accomplishments both on and off the court have translated into a dynamic career in business, entertainment, and hospitality. Mr. O'Neal is the second-largest individual shareholder of Authentic Brands Group, the company behind dozens of brand and retailer acquisitions, including Champion, Barneys New York, Reebok, Vince and Nautica. Mr. O'Neal, who holds a PhD in Leadership and Education, established The Shaquille O'Neal Foundation, which provides resources and opportunities for underserved youth across the country.
