THE PROSECCO DOC CONSORTIUM CELEBRATES A SUCCESSFUL 8TH EDITION OF THE ACCLAIMED NATIONAL PROSECCO WEEK
The 2025 edition held successful retail & restaurant promotions, influencer campaigns, and consumer and trade events
NEW YORK, June 18, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The Prosecco DOC Consortium is pleased to share the results of the 8th edition of National Prosecco Week (NPW), which took place from June 2–8, 2025 across key markets in the United States. This year's campaign featured a refreshed visual identity and the launch of a new tagline, "Sharing the Italian Way of Life!", emphasizing the social, inclusive, and celebratory spirit of Prosecco DOC.
With activations spanning key U.S. markets, National Prosecco Week 2025 brought together trade professionals, media, and consumers through a dynamic series of events, partnerships, and digital initiatives — all designed to spotlight Prosecco DOC's versatility, quality, and Italian heritage.
Leading up to National Prosecco Week, the Prosecco DOC Consortium executed a four-city Prosecco DOC Roadshow, bringing immersive educational experiences to key trade audiences across the U.S. The tour stopped inSan Francisco, CA (May 5), Chicago, IL(May 8), Raleigh, NC(May 13), and Washington, D.C. (May 20), offering a series of engaging masterclasses. Each event featured expert-led sessions by some of the industry's most respected voices - Jim Bube, MS; Sheri Morano, MW; Kryss Speegle, MW; and Chris Gaither, MS - who shared deep insights into the Prosecco DOC region, winemaking practices, and tasting profiles. The Roadshow attracted a strong and diverse audience of sommeliers, buyers, educators, and journalists, building momentum for National Prosecco Week and reinforcing the Consortium's commitment to trade education and engagement.
Building on last year's success, the 2025 edition of National Prosecco Week featured its most extensive retail and restaurant promotions to date, with participation from over 2,000 stores across the country. For the first time, nationwide retailer Total Wine & More joined the campaign, alongside returning partners such as Costco, Albertsons, Binny's, and others. In total, the initiative engaged over 1,350 independent retailers, 250 independent restaurants, 10 national retail chains, and 5 national restaurant groups across more than 20 states.
Returning for its second edition, the Prosecco DOC National Cocktail Competition, presented in partnership with the United States Bartenders' Guild (USBG), invited bartenders nationwide to submit original cocktails using Prosecco DOC as a core ingredient. USBG judges narrowed down the submissions to five finalists, who were flown to Las Vegas on June 2nd for the competition's first-ever live finale, held at Jammyland, a renowned local cocktail bar. A panel of local industry experts evaluated the cocktails on flavor, craftsmanship, and originality to select an Overall Winner (Lauren Pellecchia from Ohio) of the 2025 NPW Cocktail Competition. In addition, a People's Choice Winner (Kyrylo Filipushko from New York) was chosen based on a combination of votes from guests in attendance and votes from the Social Media Blitz, where bartenders were able to guide their followers to vote for them on the National Prosecco Week Website.
Renowned sensory expert Dr. Hoby Wedler returned to host a blindfolded seminar on June 2nd at Il Gattopardo, a renowned Italian restaurant in New York City. This cross-sensory session challenged media and industry professionals to rely on aroma, texture, and taste—rather than sight—to explore the distinct characteristics of Prosecco DOC. The seminar deepened appreciation for the wines' sensory profile and composition, aided by a specially designed kit by Emotitech that combined olfactory and tactile elements that evoke the Prosecco DOC universe. Dr. Wedler will also host a second cross-sensory masterclass in Aspen, CO on June 19th at The Little Nell to celebrate the opening of the Food & Wine Classic, where Consorzio Prosecco DOC will participate with multiple activations.
In a celebration of Prosecco's growing cultural relevance, The Consortium partnered again with Jermaine Stone of Cru Luv Selections to host a Prosecco DOC cocktail-making event on June 7 at Evento, a creative space in New York that bridges wine, art, and music.
The evening featured music, mixology, and conversation, blending wine education with cultural storytelling.
National Prosecco Week 2025 also expanded its digital reach through a curated influencer marketing campaign. The Consortium collaborated with a nationwide group of wine, lifestyle, and bartender content creators, who produced engaging stories, videos, and at-home Prosecco experiences across social media platforms. Content showcased the many ways consumers enjoy Prosecco DOC—on its own, with food, or in modern cocktail formats—building visibility and encouraging trial across diverse audiences.
"National Prosecco Week 2025 has once again proven the enduring appeal and dynamic spirit of Prosecco DOC here in the United States. This year's expanded activities and partnerships reflect not only the growing demand for our wine but also the deep connection consumers feel with the Italian way of life." said Giancarlo Guidolin, President of Consorzio Prosecco DOC, "We are proud to share the joy, tradition, and quality of Prosecco DOC with a wider audience than ever before. Looking ahead, we remain committed to fostering education, sustainability, and cultural exchange to support the continued growth and global presence of Prosecco DOC."
