Limited Edition Release Celebrates 100 Years of Blues in Chicago with AR-Powered Storytelling

CHICAGO, Sept. 19, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Good Trouble Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, the award-winning spirit rooted in purpose and heritage, proudly announces the launch of Trouble in Blues, a bold, limited edition bourbon honoring 100 years of Chicago Blues—a genre that electrified American music and gave voice to generations.

Born in the heart of Chicago and distilled with soul, Trouble in Blues is more than a bourbon—it's a liquid tribute to the artists, history, and rhythm that defined a century. From the backrooms of Bronzeville to the studios of Chess Records, Chicago Blues reshaped the musical world with its amplified urgency and raw emotional power. Legends like Buddy Guy, Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Willie Dixon, andKoko Taylor transformed acoustic laments into electric anthems, giving birth to rock, soul, and hip-hop. Without Chicago Blues, there would be no Rolling Stones, noJimi Hendrix, no Erykah Badu, no Kendrick Lamar. Trouble in Blues raises a glass to the sound and soul of a movement—and a call to carry its legacy forward.

Trouble in Blues is also one of the few spirits brands to use augmented reality (AR) technology to deepen the drinker's connection to its story. By scanning the bottle, consumers unlock an immersive AR experience featuring legendary blues icons resulting in a meaningful journey that blends storytelling with social impact—transforming the drinking experience into one of purpose, connection, and cultural celebration.

"Most brands only focus on what's in the bottle," says Dee M. Robinson, founder of Good Trouble. "We're focused on what the bottle can inspire, since we know the bourbon is amazing. Don't believe me; believe our awards! Forbes named Good Trouble Kentucky Straight Bourbon one of the best bourbons under $50; and won gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition."

With striking visual elements—from Lady Liberty atop a charging bull to broad shoulders symbolizing those who paved the way—Trouble in Blues transforms a purchase into a passport for purpose. As an African American woman in an industry where representation is rare, Robinson is proud to be breaking new ground.

Only 445 bottles are being produced, with select bottles personally signed by blues legend Buddy Guy. Proceeds will benefit the Blues Legacy Committee — an initiative spearheaded by Robinson and supported by the Mayor's office and influential civic leaders — with Guy serving as Honorary Chairman. The Committee is dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich history of Chicago as the global epicenter of Blues music.

The bottle features custom artwork inspired by 1950s jazz club posters, a striking electric blue, white, and metallic gold color palette, and a cap embossed with the words "From One Troublemaker to Another." Each bottle can be scanned via the StraxAR QR code linking to curated video and augmented reality content that brings Chicago's blues legacy to life.

Crafted as a Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, Trouble in Blues is aged for over 5 years and bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV). Its mash bill of 70% corn, 21% rye, and 9% malted barley delivers a rich, balanced profile. The nose opens with warm vanilla, pipe tobacco, and candied pecan, followed by a palate of toffee, charred oak, dark cherry, and a hint of black pepper. The finish is long, smooth, and soulful—just like the blues it celebrates.

Good Trouble Bourbon is more than a spirit, it's a movement - a symbol of resilience, purpose, and the power of challenging the status quo. The brand urges its drinkers to "look for good trouble," embodying the spirit of making a difference. By using bourbon as a tool to bring people together, Good Trouble lives up to its name—fostering dialogue, connection, and progress. Every bottle

"Chicago Blues gave the world a sound that speaks to pain, pride, perseverance, and power," said Robinson.. "With Trouble in Blues, we're raising a glass to the legends who paved the way—and inviting a new generation to honor the rhythm, resistance, and roots of this city. This bottle is our tribute to the sound that helped shape America."

Since its debut, Good Trouble Bourbon has garnered widespread recognition, including both Gold and Silver Medals at the prestigious San Francisco World Spirits Competition—one of the highest honors in the industry.
