Executive Chairman Harvey Kaye to Testify Before Congress on the Economic and Strategic Importance of Critical Materials for U.S. National Security

SALT LAKE CITY, June 24, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- US Critical Materials announces the appointment of General Stephen Townsend as Senior Advisor, bringing decades of military leadership to enhance defense and critical mineral security.

As the former Combatant Commander of U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM), General Townsend led strategic military operations across Africa, strengthening alliances and safeguarding national interests. 

He has served in key leadership roles commanding at the highest levels in the Army and the U.S. military.   His combat and operational experience includes service all over the globe including operations in Grenada, Panama, Haiti, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, and Africa. 

In March 2022, General Townsend testified before the Senate Armed Forces Committee, emphasizing America's dependence on global competitors for critical minerals and the importance of investing in rare earth resources to bolster U.S. national security.
