Wood Partners Expands Living Options in Durham, North Carolina, with Alta Durham Summit
The 312-unit community will offer updated, modern living with convenient access to Downtown Durham
DURHAM, N.C., Oct. 20, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- National multifamily developer Wood Partners has officially closed on Alta Durham Summit in Durham, North Carolina. The 312-unit multifamily community is set to break ground this month and deliver in Summer 2027.
Alta Durham Summit will provide the city with much-needed new housing stock, replacing the vacant Durham Summit office park. The community is also located adjacent to a newly renovated office building home to Durham Technical Community College. Residents will benefit from easy access to shopping and dining in Downtown Durham, Duke University, Duke University Hospital and local parks and trails.
"We're looking forward to bringing Alta Durham Summit to life, adding much-needed housing to a growing part of the city," said Caitlin Shelby, managing director at Wood Partners. "This project reflects Wood Partners' approach to delivering high-quality communities that enhance both residents' daily lives and the surrounding neighborhood. With its convenient location near Downtown, Alta Durham Summit allows residents to enjoy everything this growing city has to offer."
Alta Durham Summit includes a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom layouts in three- and four-story buildings with state-of-the-art amenities, including a pool, dog park, dog spa and open space. Wood Partners' attainable communities are built with upscale finishes such as granite countertops and stainless steel appliances and top-of-the-line amenities.
This will be Wood Partners' fifth project in Durham in recent years. In June, Wood Partners broke ground on Alta Bethpage, the 336-unit multifamily community and the final phase of the Bethpage Master Plan Development. For more information, visit woodpartners.com.
