Amplifire Ochsner KLAS Case Study

Ochsner is a leading nonprofit healthcare provider in the Gulf South, operating 46 hospitals and more than 370 health and urgent care centers. Facing challenges with clinician burnout and EHR proficiency and a large regional footprint, Ochsner Health transformed their go-live, onboarding, and ongoing EHR training with Amplifire.  Using Amplifire's science-based approach and patented algorithms to personalize learning, they were able to achieve remarkable results.

Averaging scores in newly acquired regions, Amplifire users scored in the 92nd percentile for agreement that Epic's EHR is high-quality, compared to non-Amplifire users' 23rd percentile. Providers using Amplifire achieved a 90th percentile ranking for effective ongoing EHR education, with a 13 percentage-point increase in satisfaction, as measured by the Arch Collaborative at KLAS Research.

"High-quality training isn't just about teaching technology—it's about empowering clinicians to deliver safer, smarter, and more compassionate care. When training is personalized, timely, and aligned with clinical workflows, technology becomes a trusted partner, not a barrier". said Ochsner Health Chief Information Officer Amy Trainor.

Ochsner's 900 monthly new hires and role-transitioning learners gained Epic access one day earlier, with a 2022 Arch Collaborative survey showing a 21 percentage-point increase in agreement that initial EHR training prepared them well. By 2024, transitioning annual personalization sessions to self-paced modules, like a 14-minute in Basket course, further boosted efficiency, reaching 112 ambulatory providers in a pilot.

"Healthcare organizations can't afford ineffective training when facing workforce shortages and burnout. Ochsner's 69-point improvement shows what's possible when you treat learning as a science, not guesswork. Our platform doesn't just train faster—it ensures clinicians retain critical knowledge when patient care depends on it," said Nitin Walia, President of Amplifire.
