New real-time status and dynamic mapping orchestrate faster, more informed emergency response

ATLANTA, July 23, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- CENTEGIX, the leader and most widely used provider of wearable panic buttons for K-12 schools, has enhanced its longstanding integration with RapidSOS, the pioneer in intelligent safety communications, by launching a powerful new real-time status update capability within its CrisisAlert™ platform. This enhancement dramatically compresses emergency response time by delivering alerts through RapidSOS' prioritized routing directly to 911 and keeping dispatchers updated as situations evolve.

When a staff member activates CrisisAlert™, the platform initiates two simultaneous actions to ensure the fastest possible emergency response:

  • A Silent Panic or Active Assailant Alert is transmitted via RapidSOS UNITE and instantly appears on Emergency Communication Center (ECC) dispatch screens. It provides vital information such as the identity and exact room-level location of the individual who triggered the alert, which is shown on a dynamic map that includes critical safety assets.
  • Simultaneously, a 911 call is placed by a RapidSOS Safety Agent to the ECC's priority line, providing voice confirmation and redundancy notifications.
  • This dual-path approach results in faster triage, smarter resource allocation, and quicker dispatch of emergency services.

Real-Time Event Status: Enhancing 911 Coordination and Onsite Responder Collaboration

CENTEGIX's latest enhancement enables onsite responders to immediately update an emergency alert event's classification within CrisisAlert. If additional alerts are triggered, they are pushed directly to ECC systems via RapidSOS UNITE, providing real-time situational accuracy for 911 dispatches and emergency services.

For example, if CrisisAlert is initially activated as a fight, but onsite responders determine the incident is actually an active shooter, they can immediately escalate the alert with a single tap. This update is immediately reflected in RapidSOS UNITE, helping public safety teams realign resources based on the updated context.

In addition to updating 911 dispatchers, onsite responders can use a built-in two-way statusing feature in CrisisAlert to share detailed updates with one another throughout the incident. This structured communication capability enables response teams to stay synchronized on the incident level, location changes, medical needs or area status without relying on cumbersome radios or phone calls.

    Key benefits include:

    • Dynamic reclassification of emergencies (such as Campus Threat to Medical or Fight) across all onsite and offsite responders.
    • Automatic, real-time notifications and updates to ECCs via RapidSOS
    • Two-way status updates among onsite responders for shared awareness and coordination
    • Faster and more accurate decision-making in complex emergencies
    • Greater real-time alignment between onsite and broader public safety response teams.

"When seconds matter, accurate information is everything," said Vince Zappa, Chief Product Officer, CENTEGIX. "This innovation ensures that dispatchers, responders, and administrators have the most up-to-date picture of what's happening so they can act decisively and effectively in unison."

Dynamic Map Intelligence Sets CENTEGIX Apart

CENTEGIX further enhances emergency response through live, interactive mapping that displays the organization's campus footprint with real-time alert information and safety-critical assets such as AEDs, overdose kits, and surveillance camera locations.

Unlike static campus maps provided by other systems that are outdated the moment they are created, CENTEGIX's dynamic maps can be delivered via various integration methods, including via RapidSOS. When an alert is activated, the map with the exact location of the alert and additional campus map detail is immediately sent to RapidSOS and presented to local emergency response operators and dispatchers. This real-time intelligence gives responders the information they need to enable a more effective response.

"Our collaboration with CENTEGIX marks a significant step forward in equipping organizations with life-saving communication tools for emergencies," said Karin Marquez, Chief Public Safety Brand Officer at RapidSOS. "CENTEGIX is providing a dynamic map available through our Silent Panic and Active Assailant integrations for every campus. By integrating our intelligent safety communication platform with CENTEGIX's Safety Platform, we're closing a critical gap, enabling emergency responders to act swiftly and effectively to protect lives."
