Faction Networks and Davolink Announce Joint Venture to Manufacture Made-in-USA Zero Trust Secure Routers, Pods and Portals
Finally, Zero Trust Cybersecurity Will Have a Secure Foundation
ROME, N.Y. and SEOUL, South Korea, Oct. 15, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Faction Networks, a leading disruptive innovator driving next-generation decentralized Zero Trust cybersecurity solutions, and Davolink, a major developer and manufacturer of wireless LAN solutions for home and business customers in Korea and Japan announce a joint venture to design and manufacture in the USA the first suite of Zero Trust cyber secure wireless routers and networking appliances called "Faction Pods and Portals" to sell to commercial, government and military customers. The product line will for the first time bring Zero Trust principles to the networking hardware, firmware and components upon which the integrity of all software and SaaS cyber security solutions depends, incorporating multiple Deep Tech innovations which reach all the way down to silicon by 2027.
"This partnership will lay the foundation to gain a robust share of the market in the USA for wireless network products across Military, Government and Commercial verticals. The problem of cyber security for networking is also a very high priority in Korea and other markets in Asia, with many cases where critical infrastructure and industry is harmed by hacking such as SK Telecom and Lotte Card," Davolink CEO Lim Sang-hyun said. "Our partnership with Faction Networks and commitment to applying Zero Trust principles to networking hardware and ongoing cyber assurance verification will create a profitable new business in the USA and other global markets, increase the competitiveness and value of our products in Korea, and increase corporate value."
The joint venture is addressing a problem which is widely acknowledged: over 90% of routers made for small-to-midsize businesses, homes and offices in the USA are manufactured in China or nations in their sphere of espionage - and come pre-compromised or with deliberate baked-in vulnerabilities. This is a topic of grave concern and priority at the highest levels of the US Government, Military and Industry in the wake of major media coverage and testimony in Congress about the widespread penetration and exploitation of both routers and critical infrastructure by Volt Typhoon, a Chinese cyber warfare unit.
Faction Networks offers a more secure alternative to traditional VPN and firewall solutions by eliminating significant vulnerabilities that could lead to catastrophic hacks. The platform simplifies the Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) user experience, providing the flexibility and segmentation of Software Defined Networks (SDNs) without the usual complexity and high costs. In its joint venture with Davolink, Faction Networks is bringing Zero Trust to networking hardware that also greatly enhances the security of Operational Technology (OT) and Internet of Things (IOT) devices and machines by connecting them to a totally decentralized and secure private network that has no visibility or exposure to Cloud attacks. There will be two product lines:
Faction Pods and Portals – to be released in Q1 2026. A unique secure networking appliance to protect vulnerable OT and IOT devices and machines without having to change existing routers and network software, with "scan and click" deployment in minutes and minimal to no IT support required.
Zero Trust Routers – targeted for Q3 2026. A line-up of true Zero Trust routers based on Davolink's commercial product line with "Faction Inside" for OT and IOT cybersecurity.
"We understand that if you cannot trust the routing hardware you are running on, then your Zero Trust Networking (ZTNA) firmware and software is worthless. Therefore, we engaged and completed careful diligence with over 15 router OEMs across the world in order to find a company that shared our vision and commitment to create truly secure networking appliances and routers," said Dave Rand, Co-Founder and CEO of Faction Network "Together, we will finally provide a secure foundation in networking hardware for Zero Trust security."
An important partner for Faction Networks in its mission to set a new gold standard for cyber assured Zero Trust networking and routing hardware is Assured Information Security (AIS), which provides government and commercial customers with industry leading cyber and information security capabilities and services in C5ISR, Cyber, Advanced Computing, AI/ML, and Reverse Engineering.
"As cyber threats from state actors, criminal networks and cyber terrorists continue to evolve, applying Zero Trust principles at the router level represents a critical leap forward. AIS is proud to partner in this important initiative, helping ensure these devices meet the highest cybersecurity standards required for OT and IoT environments," said Charles Green, CEO of AIS.
