Dream Job helps recruiters identify talent and enables job seekers to stand out amidst an overload of AI applications

Over 323,000 candidates and more than 1,200 companies, including NPR, Everlane, Flexport, Guild, and Huntress, have signed up for the candidate portal MyGreenhouse

SAN FRANCISCO, June 5, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Greenhouse, the leading hiring platform, has launched Dream Job to fix job hunting in the age of AI and mass applications, in which candidates face a soul-crushing job hunting experience. To help candidates stand out to recruiters, the feature allows them to designate one application each month as their "Dream Job." Over 323,000 candidates and hundreds of companies, including NPR, Everlane, Flexport, Guild and Huntress have already signed up for access to Dream Job.

With black-hole applications, dead-end hiring processes, ghosting, and a general lack of transparency, Greenhouse's 2025 Workforce and Hiring report found that two-thirds (66%) of job candidates say today's job market is either extremely or very competitive. At the same time, recruiters are overwhelmed with the number of applications per job, which has increased 102% since ChatGPT's release according to data from Greenhouse (average number of applications per job Q3 2022 compared to Q4 2024). Dream Job provides employers with a valuable signal to identify candidates who are genuinely interested, enabling them to focus on the most promising applications among the mass of applications received.

Candidates need more effective methods when applying. With nearly half (46%) of U.S. candidates abandoning job applications when forced to manually re-enter resume information, the MyGreenhouse candidate portal makes it extremely easy to update your information once. Further improving the experience, Dream Job makes their job search more strategic. It empowers candidates to signal real intent to work at a specific organization, which can positively influence hiring outcomes. Currently, more than 1,200 Greenhouse customers have enabled candidates to submit their Dream Job applications, with over 10,000 submissions received.

"Job hunting today is like playing a lottery: the odds of being seen are extremely low. It's never been easier to apply for a job, and at the same time, it's never been harder to get through the process. Dream Job allows candidates to show a position is their first choice—a role they'd decline every other offer for—helping employers identify high intent candidates," says Jon Stross, President and Co-Founder of Greenhouse. "Dream Job tips the scale in candidates' favor, making their job search more effective. While some candidates rely on their networks for referrals, Dream Job provides an advantage where intent—not personal connections—can influence who rises to the top. It gives candidates more agency in a brutally competitive market."

Dream Job changes the hiring experience for candidates in a hugely positive way. It will revolutionize what candidates come to expect from prospective employers and help employers stand apart from the crowd as they fight for top talent. Candidates are already having a positive experience:

"After flagging my Dream Job, HR reached out to me the next day, which was ridiculously quick. Then I had an offer by the end of the week. It was probably the fastest, smoothest, and most satisfying interview process I've had," says MyGreenhouse Dream Job user Martin Nguyen, who was recently hired at Ping Identity. "It's rare to find a HR platform that actually works seamlessly."
