SALT LAKE CITY, Oct. 9, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Ivory Innovations, a nonprofit academic center based at the University of Utah David Eccles School of Business, today announced that the 2025 Ivory Prize Summit will take place on October 29, 2025. The Ivory Prize Summit is an annual gathering to recognize the winners of the Ivory Prize in Housing Affordability competition and bring together housing innovators from across the country for a day of solutions-focused dialogue and collaboration. Utah Governor and National Housing Crisis Task Force Co-Chair Spencer Cox will deliver remarks. This year's event will be held at the University of Utah, Robert H. and Katharine B. Garff Building, from 10:30 am – 6:00 pm Mountain Time.
"Governor Cox has made solving the state's housing affordability challenges one of his signature priorities and his commitment makes him the ideal voice to inspire action through achievable goals," said Abby Ivory, President, Ivory Innovations. "In addition to honoring our Ivory Prize winners and selecting a grand prize winner for this year's Hack-A-House competition, the Summit features esteemed speakers and panelists engaging in meaningful discussions on how we can bring to market implementable solutions and ideas to address our nation's housing crisis."
Prior to the official Summit opening, Ivory Innovations will host closed-door programming for key housing leaders plus Ivory Prize winners and finalists to discuss implementation strategies for real-world housing affordability solutions.
At the Summit, Ivory Innovations will introduce a new resource designed to help local governments across the country improve key areas that significantly impact time and cost in the housing development process. The resource will highlight top issues and offer straightforward, prescriptive solutions that developers, policymakers and communities can implement immediately to accelerate housing production and reduce costs.
The Summit will be live streamed, allowing virtual attendees to view all panels, sessions and keynotes. Online participants will also have the unique opportunity to vote for the 2025 Hack-A-House grand prize winner, a 24-hour competition showcasing breakthrough solutions created by students from universities across the country that address housing affordability.
Event partners and sponsors include the National Housing Crisis Task Force, Call to Action Foundation, Buckner, and Auto-Owners Insurance.
