Mulligan the TurfMutt Set to Welcome Green Industry to Equip Exposition 2025
LOUISVILLE, Ky., Oct. 14, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Mulligan the TurfMutt, the official spokesdog of the TurfMutt Foundation, is helping finalize plans for award-winning Equip Exposition, where she will greet thousands of outdoor industry professionals. Held in Mulligan's hometown of Louisville, Ky., from October 21-24, 2025, the international landscape, outdoor living and equipment exposition is one of the five largest tradeshows in the U.S.
"more than 100 lucky dogs have found their forever homes with Equip Expo attendees""Our mission is to promote a better, greener world, and Mulligan the TurfMutt is an important ambassador," says Kris Kiser, President & CEO of the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute (OPEI) and the TurfMutt Foundation. "She reminds us that our industry's work creates landscapes that are not only beautiful but also vital for the health of people, pets, and the planet. We can't wait to welcome everyone to Louisville to celebrate the industry's dedication to this cause."
Mulligan's Year-Round Mission
Throughout the year, Mulligan serves as an advocate for green spaces, educating children and families about their health and environmental benefits. Through TurfMutt's online resources and appearances on CBS's Mission Unstoppable and Lucky Dog, Mulligan inspires millions of people to be good stewards of the outdoors.
Pre-Show Prep
To gear up for Equip Expo, Mulligan is perfecting her "welcome wag" and training for Mulligan's 5K Fun Run and Walk. Sponsored by Active Dynamics, the October 22 event's route starts at the TurfMutt Great Lawn in Louisville's award-winning Waterfront Park and takes runners and walkers across the Big Four® Pedestrian and Bicycle Bridge over the Ohio River. The superstar pup is also perfecting her "shake a paw" to meet with celebrity dog trainer and Emmy Award-winning host, Brandon McMillian of CBS Lucky Dog, who will be at the Mulligan's Mutt Madness pet adoption event on Thursday, October 23 at the Kentucky Exposition Center.
The Mutt Madness Legacy
Having been adopted at the 2019 Mutt Madness, Mulligan knows "first-paw" that the team at Kentucky Humane Society (KHS) excels at finding homes for animals in need. Since the Equip dog adoption event started in 2018, more than 100 lucky dogs have found their forever homes with Equip Expo attendees. Mulligan is looking forward to welcoming potential pet parents to the new Mutt Madness location: South Wing A Lobby at the Kentucky Exposition Center.

About the TurfMutt Foundation
TurfMutt, which celebrated its 15th anniversary in 2024, was created by the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute's (OPEI) TurfMutt Foundation and has reached more than 70 million children, educators and families since 2009. The Foundation is title sponsor of "Lucky Dog," the Emmy Award-winning CBS broadcast television show in support of dog rescue and rehabilitation. Both TurfMutt spokesdogs have been rescue dogs, and Mutt Mulligan is a cast character on the show, where her "Mulligan Minute" segments teach viewers about the benefits of green space. In 2024, the Great Lawn at Louisville's award-winning Waterfront Park on the Ohio River was renamed the TurfMutt Foundation Great Lawn as part of a $1 million sponsorship. Championed by Mulligan the TurfMutt, and through education partners such as Scholastic, Discovery, Weekly Reader, and the USBGC Global Learning Lab, TurfMutt has taught students and teachers how to "save the planet, one yard at a time." TurfMutt has been an education resource at the U.S. Department of Education's Green Ribbon Schools, the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Green Apple, the Center for Green Schools, the Outdoors Alliance for Kids, the National Energy Education Development (NEED) project, Climate Change Live, Petfinder and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
