Myung Se-bin recalls hardship during career break: 'I sold my bags and took part-time jobs'

Actor Myung Se-bin has opened up about the financial struggles she faced during her career hiatus, saying she once believed her acting career might be over. A preview clip released Monday on the YouTube channel “You Quiz on the Block” featured Myung ahead of her appearance on the Dec. 26 episode. She currently stars in JTBC’s “The Dream Life of Mr. Kim.” In the video, Myung laughed as she spoke about being praised for her realistic portrayal of a long-married wife. “I have to act like someone who has been married for a long time, but I don’t have much experience in that area,” she said. Myung married in 2008 but announced her divorce five months later. She then described the financial strain she endured during her period away from acting. “I didn’t have enough to pay my credit card bill, so I wondered what I could sell,” she said. “I sold my bags and many other things. I was that desperate,” she added.
