NESPRESSO COFFEE AS A FORCE FOR GOOD
Nespresso expands Café Joyeux collaboration to U.S.; continuing to support inclusion of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the workplace.
NEW YORK, July 23, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Nespresso today announced the U.S. expansion of its collaboration with Café Joyeux, a family of cafes that foster inclusivity by empowering those with mental and cognitive disabilities. Together, Nespresso and Café Joyeux are introducing a capsule that symbolizes coffee as a force for good, aiming to spread happiness and contribute to meaningful work opportunities.
To support this mission, Nespresso has pledged a minimum contribution of $500,000 to Café Joyeux as they continue to expand their efforts in supporting individuals with intellectual and development disorders (IDD) in the workplace.
With over 8 million people in the U.S. living with IDD and 78% facing unemployment, this collaboration is more important than ever. Café Joyeux stands as one of the pioneering café-restaurant concepts employing and training individuals with IDD. Guided by trained chefs, managers, and supervisors, they learn the trade and actively engage in the workplace. According to a study by Café Joyeux, 91% of crew members have developed professional skills that reassure them for their integration and their future, and 93% feel their autonomy has improved.
"After our success in Europe, we are thrilled to share Nespresso <3 Café Joyeux with our U.S. friends knowing what an incredible impact it has had on the organization and IDD community. In America, the country of Inclusion and freedom to work, the collaboration has a big role to play for those who have been excluded from the economy, because of their differences," said Yann Bucaille, co-founder of Café Joyeux.
