WASHINGTON, Oct. 3, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Regan Zambri Long, a leading personal injury law firm in Washington, DC, is now accepting cases related to a deadly listeria outbreak linked to ready-to-eat pasta meals sold at major retailers, including Walmart, Trader Joe's, Kroger, and Albertsons stores.

According to news reports, the outbreak has resulted in four deaths, 19 hospitalizations, and 20 confirmed illnesses across 15 states as of September 30.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service have linked the outbreak to contaminated pre-cooked pasta in several ready-to-eat meal products, including:

  • Marketside Linguine with Beef Meatballs & Marinara Sauce (sold at Walmart)
  • Trader Joe's Cajun Style Blackened Chicken Breast Fettuccine Alfredo
  • Home Chef Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo (sold at Kroger)
  • Various pasta salad products at Albertsons Companies stores

Additional products may be added to the recall list as the investigation continues. Consumers should check the CDC and FDA websites for the most current information.

The FDA has identified Nate's Fine Foods as the pasta supplier, which provides precooked pasta and grains to the wholesale food service and restaurant industries.

Listeria monocytogenes infections are particularly harmful to people aged 65 and older, pregnant women, and individuals with weakened immune systems. Symptoms can include fever, muscle aches, headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance, and convulsions. In pregnant women, listeria can cause pregnancy loss, premature birth, or serious illness in newborns.

"Consumers have a right to safe food products," said Salvatore Zambri, a partner at Regan Zambri Long. "When negligence in the food supply chain leads to serious illness or death, those responsible must be held accountable."

Time-sensitive legal deadlines apply to food poisoning cases. If you or a loved one became ill after consuming any of the recalled pasta products, Regan Zambri Long can help you understand your legal rights and pursue compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering, and other damages.
