KASHGAR, China, Oct. 14, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- On October 12th, during the 35-kilovolt Taochia Line renovation project in Shache County, State Grid Kashgar Power Supply Company successfully applied a 35-kilovolt mobile substation to achieve load transfer, effectively ensuring regional power supply during the construction period.

Chareke Township in Shache County is currently supplied by the 35-kilovolt Chareke Substation, which receives its primary power from the 110-kilovolt Taoyuan Substation. Due to prolonged heavy-load operation, the existing 35-kilovolt Taochia Line has necessitated upgrades to alleviate grid stress. As part of the renovation, the new Taochia Line requires four consecutive overhead crossings over the original line. Conventional power outage methods for such operations would result in a complete blackout across Chareke Township.

To maintain continuous power supply for critical users and minimize service interruptions, State Grid Kashgar Power Supply Company conducted a comprehensive assessment and decided to implement a mobile substation solution for the first time. The mobile unit was connected via cable from Tower 31 of the 35-kilovolt Taolu Line to its high-voltage side, while its low-voltage side was linked to the 10-kilovolt Chareke Line. Power was then fed back into the 10-kilovolt busbar of the 35-kilovolt Chareke Substation, thereby successfully transferring the entire substation's load without interruption.

Compared with conventional fixed substations, mobile substations offer significant advantages, including compact design, reduced land use, flexible deployment, and operational convenience. They provide full substation functionality and enhance the power grid's emergency response and disaster resilience capabilities. This innovative application enabled construction work to proceed with minimal impact on end-users—effectively achieving "unnoticed" maintenance—and substantially improved power supply reliability and customer satisfaction.

Going forward, State Grid Kashgar Power Supply Company will continue exploring advanced technologies and equipment to further enhance the safety, quality, and efficiency of grid construction, contributing to the development of a robust and intelligent power infrastructure that supports local economic and social progress.
