"Farmers are the caretakers of our soil, our food, and our future," said Cornucopia Executive Director Melody Morrell. "As we celebrate Organic Month, we're honored to join this collaborative effort to remove barriers for the farmers who make regenerative agriculture a reality."

Led by Tractor Beverage and Farmhand Foundation, and informed by Cornucopia, the campaign underscores Cornucopia's shared commitment to protecting community-scale farmers and restoring soil health.

We the Soil mobilizes citizens to contact their members of Congress online and through a postcard campaign to protect:

Crucial support for organic farmers — ease the burden for farmers investing in soil health practices by expanding organic cost-share benefits and providing technical assistance to help farmers remain in organic production and incentivize tomorrow's organic farmers.

Strong organic integrity — ensure that organic farming, rooted in healthy soil, remains governed by strict standards and meaningful enforcement.

Investment in organic research — prioritize seeds and breeds adapted to diverse ecosystems, which make it easier for farmers to succeed in and transition to organic systems, strengthening local markets and enlivening local communities.

"Organic Month is a reminder that healthy soil and thriving farmers go hand in hand. At Farmhand Foundation, we believe that when we back the people who steward the land, we also back resilient communities, tastier food, and a stronger regenerative future for everyone," says Whitney Clapper, executive director of Farmhand Foundation.

By lending its resources and deep knowledge to the campaign, Cornucopia aims to shine a light on the interconnectedness of healthy soil and resilient rural communities.

"Tractor is committed to amplifying the voices of family farmers," says Kevin Sherman, CEO of Tractor Beverage Company. "This campaign represents our firm commitment to honor the work of farmers, protect our soil, and show the world that organic farming is the foundation of our future."
