NASHVILLE, Tenn., Sept. 25, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The Osteopathic Medical Education Conference (OMED), hosted by the American Osteopathic Association, will take place Sept. 25–28 in Nashville. The event remains the world's largest annual gathering of osteopathic physicians, medical students and health care professionals.

The conference features medical education sessions on artificial intelligence, vaccinations, emergency medicine, patient care, mental health and critical care issues affecting older adults. Thousands of osteopathic physicians and students are expected to participate in interactive sessions, gain insights from leading experts and walk away with strategies to enhance their practice and improve patient outcomes.

"You have a chance for osteopathic physicians all over the country to come together. It is quite a unique experience because there is no other place where you can have so many diverse lectures among different specialties and have them all in one place," said AOA President Robert G.G. Piccinini, DO, D.FACN, a board-certified psychiatrist.

Past OMED conferences have been held in Boston, San Antonio, Orlando and San Diego.

OMED continues to be the hallmark event for osteopathic medical education and reinforces the community bonds essential for advancing the profession and improving patient care. The conference provides opportunities for attendees to earn continuing medical education credit, discuss clinical science, network with colleagues and advocate for health care issues.

Conference highlights include:

  • Nashville's own Ben Debelek, DO, also known as DrBenComedy, a comedian who blends his career as a board-certified osteopathic orthopedic surgeon with a passion for clean, family-friendly humor.

  • Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha, author of What the Eyes Don't See: A Story of Crisis, Resistance, and Hope in an American City, recognized by The New York Times as one of the 100 most notable books.

  • Simon T. Bailey, author of Resilience@Work: How to Coach Yourself into a Thriving Future, which received the 2025 Next Generation Indie Book Award and the 2025 Independent Press Award.

  • An Exhibit Hall featuring medical innovators and industry leaders offering presentations, new technologies and interactive discussions.

"OMED is not just a conference, but a celebration of the osteopathic profession and a commitment to advancing our medical practice," said OMED Chair Peter Ajluni, DO. "This year's event promises to bring together thousands of osteopathic physicians and medical students from various specialties, providing an invaluable platform for sharing knowledge, fostering collaboration and addressing today's most pressing health care challenges."
