Velvet Rose Opens at The Eden: A Rooftop Ode to Glamour in Santa Monica

SANTA MONICA, Calif., Sept. 25, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The Eden, Santa Monica's Streamline Moderne landmark reborn earlier this year under new leadership, announces the debut of Velvet Rose, a rooftop lounge that brings together golden-age atmosphere and present-day edge.

Perched above Ocean Avenue, Velvet Rose is the only open-air rooftop lounge in Santa Monica. The setting layers Art Deco details with rose-tinted accents and cinematic light, offering guests a panoramic vantage point over the Pacific.

A soundtrack played strictly on vinyl sets the tone, underscoring the room's focus on character and atmosphere. The menu follows suit, highlighting cocktails that reinterpret standards with precision, paired with small plates designed to be shared. Options include deviled eggs, caviar with chips and crème fraîche, and tinned fish presented with unexpected touches.

Velvet Rose will be open Fridays and Saturdays from 4:00 pm–11:00 pm beginning this October. The rooftop is also available for private events, film shoots, and photo sessions.
