ENSENADA, Mexico, Oct. 9, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- In a move to bridge the gap between academic theory and high-demand industry skills, global consulting firm Zventus and the Ensenada Institute of Technology (ITE), a critical institution within Mexico's vast Tecnológico Nacional de México (TecNM) system, officially launched a state-of-the-art Software Development Center of Excellence (CoE).

Strategically located on the ITE campus, this launch is a landmark moment: the creation of the first software development CoE to be operated directly within a university. It is designed to be a dynamic engine for innovation, focused on high-demand technologies including AI, cloud computing, and robotics, while creating an elite, job-ready talent pool for the digital economy.

The core of this partnership is the Mexican Model of Dual Training (MMDT), or Dual Education Program. This framework moves beyond traditional internships, fundamentally integrating practical experience into the academic journey.

Students will spend approximately 80% of their time receiving hands-on training at the Zventus CoE, directly tackling real-world business and technological challenges for Zventus's clients in the real estate, mortgage, insurance, and healthcare sectors. The remaining 20% of their time will be dedicated to theoretical learning at ITE. This structure ensures graduates are equipped with a global perspective, bilingual capability, and Fortune 500-level best practices.

Angel Alban, President of Zventus, highlighted the long-term, transformative impact of the collaboration: "This is more than a facility; it's a strategic talent accelerator. By embedding our operations directly within ITE, we are investing in the very source of future innovators. Creating a Center of Excellence (CoE) at a university is a powerful engine of change where students find their calling, gain the practical experience and guidance they need to become the innovators of tomorrow. It's an investment in progress and a commitment to innovation."

The initiative drew enthusiastic support from educational, business, and government leaders, underscoring its broad regional significance and its role in positioning the institution. The CoE will serve as a continuous resource for Zventus, leveraging the proven partnership model that has seen the firm welcome over seven generations of interns from across North and Central America since 2016.

Dr. Valentín Sánchez Beltrán, Director of ITE, emphasized the center's role: "By collaborating with an industry leader like Zventus, we are validating the quality of our academic programs and ensuring our students have an unparalleled competitive edge in the global marketplace. This CoE is a powerful testament to our community's commitment to progress."

The inauguration was a high-profile event, gathering leaders including Angel Alban (President of Zventus), Dr. Valentín Arquímedes Sánchez Beltrán (Director of ITE), Lic. Hortencia Medellín (representing the Baja California Ministry of Economy and Innova), Mario Peregrina (President of EDC), and Councilwoman Raquel Manríquez (representing the municipal government). The ceremony also drew strong attendance from students, leaders of Baja California companies, and various other government officials, signaling widespread community and institutional support for the project.
