Lee meets UN chief, Uzbek and Czech Presidents on UN sidelines

NEW YORK CITY — After delivering a keynote address at the United Nations General Assembly in New York on Tuesday (local time), President Lee Jae Myung met with UN Secretary-General António Guterres to discuss peace initiatives, before holding consecutive summits with the leaders of Uzbekistan and the Czech Republic. In his UN keynote address, President Lee paid tribute to Secretary-General Guterres, praising his “unwavering dedication and hard work” and expressing hope that, under Guterres’ leadership, this year’s General Assembly would yield “even more meaningful outcomes.” Following the speech, President Lee met with Secretary-General Guterres to exchange views on global peace efforts, then moved on to bilateral talks with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Czech President Petr Pavel.
