NCYS Awards Seven Youth Sports Organizations with Lifesaving AED Packages Through Project AED365 During National Youth Sports Week and Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness Month
BRENTWOOD, Tenn., Oct. 6, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Coro Med, in collaboration with the National Council of Youth Sports (NCYS), today announced the recipients of the Safety-First Awards, equipping seven youth sports organizations across the country with Automated External Defibrillator (AED) packages, emergency training, and Emergency Action Plan (EAP) resources.
The awards, made possible through Project AED365 in partnership with Coro Medical, Zoll Medical, HSI, LifeVac, and GoRescue, coincided with National Youth Sports Week (October 6–11, 2025) and National Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) Awareness Month, underscoring the urgent need to prepare coaches, volunteers, and communities to respond when every second counts.
"Every October, SCA Awareness Month reminds us that lives are saved or lost in the minutes following cardiac arrest," said Wayne B. Moss, Executive Director of NCYS. "By putting AEDs directly into the hands of youth organizations that need them most, we're closing safety gaps, empowering coaches, and saving lives."

"Project AED365 was created with one goal: to make sure no community goes without the lifesaving tools needed to respond to sudden cardiac arrest," said Travis Harris, CEO of Coro Medical. "This partnership with NCYS is a powerful example of that mission in action delivering AEDs, training, and confidence directly to the fields, courts, and gyms where young athletes play every day."
A Call to Action During SCA Awareness Month
Sudden cardiac arrest remains one of the leading causes of death in youth sports, yet many leagues and community programs still lack AEDs or emergency response plans. By combining equipment, education, and advocacy, NCYS's Safety First initiative is setting a new national standard for preparedness, one that can prevent tragedies and keep young people playing safely.
Communities, organizations, and individuals are encouraged to visit www.smartheartaeds.com/project-aed365 to apply for the opportunity to receive a free AED.
