RestoringVision Appoints Emmanuel Le Perru as Vice President of Programs
SAN FRANCISCO, July 2, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- RestoringVision, the global nonprofit dedicated to providing vision screening and eyeglasses around the world, is pleased to announce the appointment of Emmanuel Le Perru as vice president of programs.
In his new role, Le Perru is responsible for RestoringVision's overall program strategy, including leading a growing team of international professionals, developing high-quality programming, and strengthening in-country partnerships to expand the organization's global impact. Last year, RestoringVision reached almost 6 million people living in extreme poverty with vision screening and eyeglasses; in 2025, it expects to reach over 7 million.
"We are proud to welcome Emmanuel to our senior leadership team," said Pelin Munis, Ph.D., chief executive officer of RestoringVision. "With his deep expertise in program management, proven experience in quality program assurance, and dedication to improving the health and quality of life in underserved communities around the world, he will help to drive and scale our presbyopia programs in the coming years."
Le Perru brings more than 20 years of global health program management experience to RestoringVision, having worked across 30 countries—particularly in West, Central, and East Africa—with diverse funders including the U.S. government, World Bank, World Health Organization, and UNICEF. Most recently, he served as Chemonics International's country director in Haiti for the U.S. Global Health Supply Chain-Procurement and Supply Management Project (GHSC-PSM), where he led the procurement and last-mile distribution of $20 million in pharmaceutical commodities annually. Prior to that, he was with Jhpiego, where he served as the country director for Nepal for four years. He has also held senior level roles at other international NGOs including Population Services International (PSI) and Management Sciences for Health, as well as at the French National Cancer Institute and the Pasteur Institute.
"I am excited to be joining such a talented team and building on RestoringVision's achievement of delivering vision screening and near-vision eyeglasses to more than 34 million people around the world," said Le Perru. "I look forward to expanding our programming and strong network of partnerships to meet the needs of millions more in the years ahead."
Le Perru holds a Master's Degree in Management from SKEMA Business School in France.
