2025 China International Online Literature Week Opens in Hangzhou
BEIJING, Sept. 29, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The 2025 China International Online Literature Week kicked off on September 26 in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, highlighting how artificial intelligence is reshaping digital storytelling.
Held under the theme "New Momentum, New Landscape, New Dimension: Global Vision of AI-Empowered Online Literature," the opening gathered representatives from 19 countries, including foreign embassy officials, overseas authors and readers, and experts in translation and international communication. They joined Chinese online writers, platform executives and critics for discussions on the growing global influence of online literature.
In recent years, Chinese online literature has accelerated its mainstreaming and pursuit of high-quality production, shaping a vibrant new scene for Chinese literature in the digital era. At the opening ceremony, the China Writers Association Online Literature Center released the China Online Literature International Communication Report 2025, which comprehensively reviews the global outreach and development of online literature in 2024, vividly outlining its evolving landscape. A four-party cooperation framework agreement was signed between the China Writers Association Online Literature Center, the Chinese Literature Foundation, the Zhejiang Writers Association, and the Publicity Department of the CPC Hangzhou Municipal Committee. The event also launched the "Initiative to Promote the International Communication of Online Literature", the "Beautiful China International Writing Program", and the "Measures of Hangzhou City to Support the Prosperous Development of Online Literature".
The 2025 International Online Literature Week will also feature a range of events, including the Online Literature International Roundtable, Online Literature Lectures at Universities, International Exchanges and Dialogues, and Online Literature Going Global Business Forum.
