Lee Jung-hoo of the San Francisco Giants had a three-hit game go to waste in a narrow loss at home. Lee went 3-for-4 with an RBI in the Giants' 2-1 loss to the New York Mets at Oracle Park in San Francisco on Saturday (local time). It was Lee's seventh three-hit effort of this season and his third in July. Batting seventh, Lee got his first hit with a single in the top of the second inning. He collected an RBI with a bases-loaded groundout in the fourth, and it ended up being the Giants' only run of this game. After hitting a single in the sixth, Lee delivered a double off the right-center field wall with one out in the ninth. Lee represented the tying run, but Mike Yastrzemski struck out swinging against closer Edwin Diaz before Patrick Bailey lined out sharply to first baseman Pete Alonso to end the game. Lee's batting average ticked up to .254, his highest mark since June 26. After struggling to a .143 average in June, Lee is hitting .318 so far in July.
