Hanwha Aerospace Co. is poised to sign an additional contract with Norway to supply 24 K9 self-propelled howitzers, defense industry sources said Thursday. The Korean defense giant is expected to finalize the agreement soon with the Norwegian Defense Materiel Agency, according to the sources. A company official declined to confirm details, saying, "We cannot provide specifics regarding the contract at this time." Hanwha Aerospace first signed a deal in 2017 to supply 24 K9 howitzers and six K10 ammunition resupply vehicles to Norway in a package worth 245.2 billion won ($176.9 million). The K9 has since been adopted by a range of countries, including Turkey, Poland, Finland, Estonia, Egypt, India, Australia and Romania. Last month, Hanwha signed a $250 million deal with Vietnam to deliver 20 K9s, marking the howitzer's first export to Southeast Asia.Weiter zum vollständigen Artikel bei Korea Times
