At its annual meeting , bpost shareholders approved the company’s 2024 financial results and made several changes to leadership and governance.Ordinary General MeetingDuring the regular shareholders meeting:The 2024 financial results and the executive pay report were approved.The company’s directors and auditors were officially released from liability for their work in 2024.Five directors were (re)appointed:Françoise Roels, proposed by the Belgian State, was appointed for four years.Lionel Desclée and Jules Noten had their terms as independent directors renewed for three years.Sonja Rottiers was reappointed for four years.Hakan Ericsson was appointed as a new independent director for four years.Extraordinary General MeetingRight after the regular meeting, shareholders held a special meeting to update the company’s rules and bylaws. These updates included:Minor legal changes based on recent updates to Belgian corporate law.The addition of two new roles: Vice-Chairperson and Interim CEO.New Chairperson AppointedFollowing the meetings, the new Board of Directors selected Françoise Roels as Chairperson of the Board.Françoise Roels has a background in law, taxation, and philosophy. She’s held senior roles at Euroclear, JP Morgan, and Belgacom, and most recently served as Executive Director at real estate company Cofinimmo.
