MONROE, La., July 23, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Northeast Delta Human Services Authority is proud to announce a growing range of recovery support services designed to empower individuals on their journey to healing and stability. By fostering connection, education, and access, we are helping people in recovery build brighter, healthier futures.

HSA partners with Second Chances Recovery and Good News Counseling

Our recovery supports include:

Provider Meet Ups – regular gatherings where local providers come together to identify and share resources, strengthening the network of support available to individuals in recovery.

Movie Nights – safe, welcoming social events designed to help people in recovery build community and enjoy positive, substance-free activities.

Life Skills Classes – workshops that teach essential skills such as stress management, communication, and job readiness, giving individuals the tools to thrive in recovery and beyond.

Opioid Recovery Groups – supportive spaces that offer peer connection, accountability, and strategies for sustaining recovery.

We are honored to partner with Second Chances and Good News Counseling in providing these services. Together, we are creating integrated systems of care that meet people where they are.

To address access barriers, we also offer transportation services, enabling participants to attend groups and classes. In addition, our team and partners actively engage in homeless outreach, identifying individuals struggling with addiction and connecting them to integrated care services that include treatment, housing resources, and ongoing support.

"Recovery is not just about treatment—it's about rebuilding lives," said Dr. Monteic A. Sizer, Executive Director of Northeast Delta HSA. "Through community events, resource sharing, and hands-on support, we are helping people move forward with hope and dignity."

"Our mission is to remove barriers and create opportunities," added Dr. Monteic A. Sizer. "By working with partners like Second Chances and Good News Counseling, we are building a network of care that truly meets people where they are."

Riley McEacharn, Administrator of Second Chances, shared, "Collaboration is key. Together with Northeast Delta HSA, we are ensuring that people in recovery have access not only to treatment, but to the tools and relationships they need to sustain it. This partnership with NEDHSA allows Second Chances to reach a broader audience to raise awareness and reduce the stigma associated with substance use disorder, through the mobilization of resources for more effective and comprehensive solutions to this complex social problem."

Dr. Comanche of Good News Counseling added, "Partnering with NEDHSA to provide prevention resources and substance use education is more than a strategic alliance—it's a commitment to saving lives, restoring families, and healing communities. By joining forces, we amplify our ability to reach those most vulnerable, especially our youth and the children of those caught in the cycle of addiction. Together, we bring hope to people in recovery, equipping them with the knowledge and tools to rebuild, while creating a future where fewer families face the devastating effects of substance use. This partnership stands as a promise: that we will not turn away from this crisis, but face it with unity, compassion, and action."
