Seventeen to perform at Hong Kong’s largest stadium

K-pop group Seventeen will take the stage at Hong Kong’s largest stadium, joining the ranks of global acts like Coldplay and Jay Chou, its agency said Wednesday. According to Pledis Entertainment, Seventeen will hold its “Seventeen World Tour [NEW_] in Hong Kong” on Sept. 27-28 at the Kai Tak Sports Park Main Stadium. The concert marks the group’s return to Hong Kong for the first time in seven years since its 2018 show. Kai Tak Stadium has hosted performances by international icons including Coldplay, Mayday, JJ Lin, and Jay Chou. It has also recently been the venue for high-profile European football friendly matches featuring clubs such as Liverpool FC, Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and AC Milan. Seventeen has been expanding its global stadium tour footprint with headline performances in major cities including Seoul, Incheon, Yokohama, Osaka and Los Angeles. Last year, the group drew more than 1.5 million fans — both offline and online — to its shows, with solo concerts at major venues like Seoul World Cup Stadium and Nissan Stadium in Japan.
