CJ Cheiljedang exports all-purpose kimchi sauce for global B2B market

Korean food company CJ Cheiljedang said Thursday it has begun shipping its new all-purpose kimchi cooking sauce to the global business-to-business (B2B) market, with local distribution set to begin next month. The kimchi sauce, based on Korea's traditional fermented dish kimchi, will be distributed initially in 12 markets, including Britain, France, Japan and Guam, the company said in a press release. The sauce is designed to make kimchi-based dishes, such as kimchi fried rice and kimchi burritos, easy to prepare, targeting local restaurants, hotels and foodservice operators. The company aims to promote the sauce as a professional solution for authentic Korean kimchi cuisine, rather than diluted or fusion-style K-food. It expects the B2B rollout to pave the way for global consumer retail launches. "We will play a leading role in the globalization of K-food by introducing convenient B2B products, such as the spicy 'gochujang' sauce and the sweet and savory 'bulgogi' sauce, promoting the authentic flavors of Korea to foodservice operators worldwide," a company official said.
