Tracy Parsons is a Manufacturing Engineering Technician at Plug’s Innovation Center in Henrietta, New York. Her journey from the Fuel Stack Assembly team to New Product Introduction shows her commitment to growth, innovation, and teamwork. With her hands-on expertise and problem-solving mindset, Tracy helps transform new ideas into efficient processes on the production floor.From Fuel Stack Assembly to New Product IntroductionTracy joined Plug in January 2022 as a production technician when the Henrietta facility was still being set up. After gaining valuable experience in fuel stack assembly, she moved into the New Product Introduction team. Today, she works with engineers to build, test, and document new products that will later move into full-scale production.How she found PlugTracy discovered Plug through an advertisement about the Innovation Center in Henrietta. At the time, she was looking for a workplace that offered growth, challenge, and purpose. After researching Plug’s mission and learning about its role in building a cleaner future, she knew it was the right place for her.A special family momentOne of Tracy’s most memorable experiences was working with her mother and daughter at her previous job. It was the first time three generations worked for the same company, and the experience brought them closer together. For Tracy, it was a meaningful reminder of how teamwork and shared values can make any job more rewarding.Facing tough challengesTracy recalls 2023 as a challenging year when a cyberattack disrupted operations. At that time, she was in the Fuel Stack Assembly team, and the situation required quick thinking and coordination. With the support of IT and engineering teams, they found ways to capture important data and keep production moving to meet customer needs.Why hydrogen inspires herTracy takes pride in being part of Plug’s effort to provide clean energy solutions. Knowing that her work supports a more sustainable world motivates her every day.Her life philosophyTracy believes in living one moment at a time. She says that every goal comes with ups and downs, and the only way to move forward is to take one step at a time with patience and perseverance.Life outside workOutside of work, Tracy enjoys being outdoors, whether it’s hiking, hunting, doing yard work, or spending time with loved ones at weekend cookouts.
