LG’s free ad-supported streaming service begins in UAE

LG Electronics’ free ad-supported streaming television, LG Channels, has begun its service in the United Arab Emirates, with plans to expand to other Middle East nations, the company said Tuesday. According to LG Electronics, the LG Channels service is now available for users of LG TVs running on the webOS platform in the UAE. Depending on the software version, the service will become accessible for a growing number of users. This marks LG Channels' expansion into the Middle East following its rollout in Asia, North America and Central and South America. Along with the UAE, the service has also launched in Taiwan, bringing the total number of countries it is available in to 36. In the UAE, LG Channels will stream Lovin Dubai, which provides local news and lifestyle content, WATCH IT, an on-demand service for Arabic content, as well as Bloomberg TV, Euronews and various sports, entertainment, movie and documentary channels.
