Middlesex Hospital and Clearway Health Announce Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony of First Specialty Pharmacy for Health System
New program enhances medication options, reduces financial burden and improves clinical outcomes for patients
MIDDLETOWN, Conn., Sept. 30, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Middlesex Hospital based in Middletown, in partnership with Clearway Health, a specialty pharmacy services company based in Boston, announced the grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony of Middlesex Hospital Specialty Pharmacy, the health system's first retail and specialty pharmacy today. The 1,867 square-foot pharmacy is located at 536 Saybrook Road in Middletown, on the lower level of Middlesex Health Cancer Center and is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m., beginning October 1, 2025.

Middlesex Hospital offers inpatient pharmacy services to those staying at the hospital in Middletown. The new specialty pharmacy offers pharmacy services for patients not staying at the hospital and provides an additional retail pharmacy service for Middlesex patients displaced by recent retail pharmacy closures in the area.
Comprehensive patient-centered care will be provided including specialized medication education and clinical support, medication adherence support, refill reminders, affordable prescriptions with prior authorization, co-pay assistance support and home delivery services.
