Energy Fuels shares climb on record uranium output
Energy Fuels (NYSE: UUUU; TSX: EFR) shares rose more than 8% on Tuesday after the company reported its highest-ever monthly uranium production.In May, the company’s Pinyon Plain mine in Arizona produced nearly 260,000 pounds of U₃O₈, a new monthly record. The strong output pushed Energy Fuels’ share price to C$7.23 ($5.27), up 8.23% on the Toronto Stock Exchange, giving the company a market cap of C$1.06 billion ($0.77).So far in 2025, Pinyon Plain has yielded 478,384 pounds of U₃O₈ from approximately 12,461 tons of ore, averaging a grade of 1.92% U₃O₈. That translates to a five-month production rate of about 96,000 pounds per month, with output surging to over 200,000 pounds per month in April and May.However, the company cautioned that such high production levels are unlikely to continue. The report, dated May 2025, shows Indicated Resources of 10.5 million pounds of eU₃O₈ at an average grade of 0.30%, and Inferred Resources of 3.4 million pounds at 0.28%. Compared to the previous report from February 2022, this marks a 15% increase in Indicated Resources and a 70% jump in Inferred Resources.Bullfrog remains in the permitting stage. Shares of Energy Fuels hit C$7.23, up 8.23% Tuesday morning in Toronto following the results, giving the company a market capitalization of ($1.06 billion).Over the past five months, Pinyon Plain has produced roughly 12,461 tons of ore with an average grade of 1.92% U3O8 containing 478,384 pounds of U3O8. During 2025, the company has achieved a five month production rate of roughly 96,000 pounds of U3O8 per month, with the last two months averaging roughly 205,000 pounds per month.The company said it does not expect to continue to achieve record monthly mining rates, because of limited availability of ore haulage truck, compliance requirements with the agreement with the Navajo Nation, ore stockpile limitations, and the need to perform additional required underground development and exploration work to access additional ore. Energy Fuels has also completed and filed an updated, independent Technical Report, for its 100%-owned Bullfrog Project located in Garfield County, Utah.According to the new May 2025 Technical Report, Bullfrog has Indicated Mineral Resources of 10.5 million pounds of eU3O8 contained in 1.7 million tons of material with an average grade of 0.30% eU3O8, along with Inferred Mineral Resources of 3.4 million pounds of eU3O8 contained in 0.6 million tons of material with an average grade of 0.28% eU3O8. These figures represent an increase of 15% in the Indicated Mineral Resources category and an increase of 70% in the Inferred Mineral Resources category compared to the previous Technical Report dated February 22, 2022.The Bullfrog Project is currently in the permitting phase.
