Future of Diabetes Campaign Puts Patient Voices and Stories at the Center of Care Innovation
NEW YORK, Sept. 26, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- With diabetes rates on the rise, the urgency to act has never been greater. To empower patients and providers with the latest strategies in prevention, treatment, and long-term management, Mediaplanet is proud to launch the " Future of Diabetes " campaign.
This campaign highlights the importance of holistic metabolic health, early detection, patient-centered care, and innovative treatment approaches that are transforming diabetes management. The goal: to halt disease progression, reduce complications, and ensure patients can live longer, healthier lives.
Helping lead this conversation is singer, actor, and advocate Nick Jonas, who has been living with type 1 diabetes for 20 years. Diagnosed at just 13, Jonas turned his personal journey into advocacy, co-founding the nonprofit Beyond Type 1, which works to expand access to education and critical resources for people living with diabetes — particularly in underserved communities.
"I never set out to be the face of T1D," Jonas shared. "I just wanted to be authentic, share my story, and hope that it would connect with people."
Jonas says his diagnosis reshaped his life and his family's life, but with the support of loved ones and his care team, he was able to find strength, balance, and a path to advocacy. "There's a version of the 13-year-old me sitting in a hospital bed, newly diagnosed, wondering how they were going to live with this and if it was going to disrupt their life. I wanted to try to be a role model, or an example of the fact that you can live a big, full life while living with this disease."
The print component of "Future of Diabetes" is distributed in today's edition of USA Today. Copies will be distributed on select college campuses in partnership with The Diabetes Link — reaching thousands of young adults living with diabetes — and at the AHA Scientific Sessions this November.
The digital component is distributed nationally, through a vast social media strategy, and across a network of top news sites and partner outlets. To explore the digital version of the campaign, visit: https://www.futureofpersonalhealth.com/campaign/diabetes/.
This campaign was made possible with the support of American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, Nick Jonas, The Diabetes Link and features paid content from Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Breakthrough T1D, Lavior, Abbott, Proteomics, OrderlyMeds, Cecelia Health, DaVita, Arkay Beverages, Mytonomy and Monogram Health.
