NORTHSTAR ANESTHESIA EXPANDS IN FLORIDA IN HISTORIC PARTNERSHIP WITH TAMPA GENERAL HOSPITAL NORTH
IRVING, Texas and TAMPA, Fla., May 28, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- NorthStar Anesthesia, an industry leader in anesthesia care, in April began its new partnership with Tampa General Hospital (TGH) North to provide anesthesia care and management services at three TGH North facilities: Florida Endoscopy and Surgery Center, TGH Spring Hill Hospital, and TGH Brooksville. This partnership is a milestone for NorthStar, as an important partnership in the ever-expanding Florida healthcare market.
The partnership streamlines anesthesiology services across three sites, providing NorthStar's high quality care to TGH.This partnership will streamline anesthesiology services across all three sites and provide the expert quality care that NorthStar brings to each partnership. Through its partnership with NorthStar, TGH North will expand its service offerings, including a newly introduced cardiac program this fall, alongside other specialized treatment options.
"NorthStar is incredibly excited by the opportunity to expand in Florida and work with TGH North," NorthStar Anesthesia CEO Adam Speigel said. "As one of the fastest growing states in the nation, NorthStar's presence in Florida is reflective of our broader strategic vision of partnering with leading healthcare facilities in markets with significant patient demand. We look forward to deepening our partnership with TGH North given our shared value of serving our patients' best interests and strengthening Florida's Central West region."
A unique feature of the partnership between NorthStar and TGH North is that it will prioritize work-life balance for clinicians by introducing a dynamic approach to scheduling. All of TGH North's existing anesthesiologists were converted to full-time employee status, a shift from the 1099 contractor model that TGH North previously utilized. This redesignation matches NorthStar's ongoing commitment across each of its partnerships to address staffing issues, promote transparency, and champion predictability.
"TGH North is excited to formally begin our partnership with NorthStar Anesthesia, which will support TGH's positive impact on public health and patient outcomes in our community," said Robert Ginn. Jr, Senior Vice President and Hospital President for TGH Brooksville and TGH Spring Hill. "Our patients are our number one priority, and this partnership will advance the quality care our system is known for delivering."
By transitioning anesthesiology services to NorthStar, TGH North administrators have freed up resources to invest in expanding and improving other facets of the healthcare system. To that end, TGH North anticipates that its partnership with NorthStar will allow the system to expand its hospital facilities, increasing the number of patients, and complexity of cases, that TGH North is able to treat.
