Why UnitedHealth Stock Sank Again Today

Shares of UnitedHealth Group (NYSE: UNH) plummeted again on Wednesday. The company's stock is down 5.8% as of market close, while the S&P 500 (SNPINDEX: ^GSPC) and the Nasdaq Composite (NASDAQINDEX: ^IXIC) lost 1.6% and 1.4%, respectively.The troubled health insurance giant is facing a new damaging report claiming it made secret payments to nursing homes in order to cut costs.The Guardian is reporting that UnitedHealth made secret bonus payments to nursing homes to help keep ailing residents out of hospitals.
