Braves' Kim Ha-seong back in hit column; Giants' Lee Jung-hoo smacks 1st double of September
Kim Ha-seong of the Atlanta Braves resumed his hitting ways a day after his season-best streak ended. Kim went 1-for-4 in a 4-3 loss to the Washington Nationals at Truist Park in Atlanta on Wednesday (local time). He is batting .250 for the season and .289 in 21 games since joining the Braves at the start of September. Kim saw his 10-game hitting streak snapped Tuesday but returned to the hit column in his first trip to the plate in the bottom of the second inning Wednesday, with a single deflected into center field by the glove of second baseman Luis Garcia Jr. Kim was held hitless over his next three plate appearances. He lined out to left fielder Daylen Lile in the fourth and flied out to right fielder Dylan Crews in the sixth, before grounding out to Garcia in the eighth. Also in the majors Wednesday, Lee Jung-hoo of the San Francisco Giants went 1-for-4 with his first double of September, as his team defeated the St. Louis Cardinals 4-3 at Oracle Park in San Francisco.
