Prosecutors on Thursday demanded a one-year prison term for the daughter of former President Moon Jae-in on charges of drunk driving and illegally operating an Airbnb business during her appellate hearing. The prosecution sought the sentence during the hearing at the Seoul Western District Court after a lower bench of the same court earlier fined Moon Dae-hye 15 million won ($10,250) on the charges. Moon, 42, is accused of driving her car into a taxi while changing lanes in Seoul's Itaewon district in October last year. Her blood alcohol concentration was measured at 0.149 percent at the time, exceeding the 0.08 percent threshold for driver's license revocation. Separately, she is accused of running an Airbnb business without official registration at three locations, including in Seoul and on the southern resort island of Jeju, to earn 136 million won for about five years. Moon admitted to all charges at the hearing and apologized to the victims for the harm she caused. The case's sentencing hearing will take place on Jan. 29.Weiter zum vollständigen Artikel bei Korea Times
