adesso renews portal architecture for AOK / IT service provider develops standardised platform for creating all front-end applications for the AOK community

adesso SE has been awarded the contract for a major strategic project by AOK: adesso is acting as a strategic partner for the AOK community, comprising 27 million policyholders, helping with the set-up and enhancement of a forward-looking, joint portal architecture for all central front-end applications. The project will initially run for four years. An extension for a further four years is possible. A volume of up to EUR 20 million has been earmarked for this first phase.

The portal architecture forms the basis for a powerful, customer-centred, and interoperable digital ecosystem. This ecosystem enables the entire AOK community to achieve a rapid launch of innovative digital solutions in current as well as future front-end products and ensures seamless system integration, thereby offering maximum future-proofing. At the same time, it is modular and expandable so that it can be used in various contexts for corporate customers, service providers, and partner companies. The new portal architecture therefore contributes to increased efficiency and process optimisation, avoids redundant development processes, and reduces maintenance costs. It also enables a consistent user experience and promotes innovation through the integration of external solutions.

adesso’s bid successfully went through an extensive and demanding tendering procedure. The project, which was launched in May, marks the start of a long-term, partnership-based collaboration which, along with consulting and implementation, also includes the operation and maintenance of front-end applications as part of application management.

The new portal architecture uses state-of-the-art technologies and accesses the highly productive core system applications of the AOK community via a standardised integration layer. Beim Aufbau der neuen Plattform

The development of the new platform focuses on user-centricity: The ecosystem is designed to provide a consistent, integrated, and future-proof digital platform for policyholders and interested parties as well as corporate customers, service providers, and partner applications. It is intended to provide innovative digital services and shorten development cycles while offering maximum flexibility and scalability for the individual requirements of the eleven AOK organisations.
