Hyundai Motor reports dismal earnings amid full-scale tariff shock

Hyundai Motor has reported drastic earnings fall in the third quarter, as the carmaker was exposed to the full-scale tariff shock from the United States despite solid auto sales in its key export markets, the carmaker said Thursday. In a regulatory filing, the Korean automaker reported 2.53 trillion won ($1.75 billion) in operating profit between July and September, down 29.2 percent from the previous year.
