Austrian Post “bringing CO2-free delivery on the last mile to mountainous regions”

Having already made great strides in deploying electric vehicles in cities and rural regions, Österreichische Post AG is now taking the next step toward its goal of CO₂-free delivery across Austria by 2030.In mountainous regions, Austrian Post uses all-wheel drive vehicles, as some mountain roads may only be used with all-wheel drive and reliable delivery must be guaranteed even in winter road conditions. Austrian Post is now putting the first 100 all-wheel drive vehicles with electric drive into operation, making it the first time that it is also on the road electrically on the mountain. With the electric all-wheel drive, we not only ensure year-round and reliable delivery, but also consistently make logistics in Austria sustainable.”Austrian Post has put out to tender the procurement of all-wheel drive vehicles with electric drive, only one manufacturer had a corresponding model in its portfolio and applied: the Chinese manufacturer Maxus with the eDeliver 7 4×4.The electric transporter has a battery capacity of 88 kilowatt hours (kWh), which ensures a range of around 200 kilometres in daily driving.
